Quire
Within a world of excessive digital belongings, Quire asks the question of how digital remains can be managed at the end-of-life stage to encourage care, reflection and humanity ensuring the enduring value of digital items is not lost.

Within our lives we accumulate a wealth of digital belongings such as photos, videos, audio recordings etc. These items become inherently tied to our lived memories and once we die are erased despite the impact of a will due to the sheer volume of the images that exist. Quire as a speculative exploration aims to address this by encouraging an interaction rich experience in order to curate digital belongings at end of life.
Quire was produced as apart of a research through design approach, with key academic insights informing the product. The wooden handle at the rear of the device acts as the primary pulley in order to physically curate digital belongings on the device. With the mesh cover over the display functioning as a method to obstruct memories that are present on the device.

Quire Appearance Model
The Quire appearance model was produced with a FDM 3D printing process to create a physical representation to communicate the design intent. The initial product was 3D modelled in SolidWorks with splitting details added to optimize the product temporarily for 3D printing.
